What Causes An Infection In The Wound With Red Prominent Lines Around It?

Question as to whether we should head to hospital right away or wait until tomorrow to head to an Urgent Care facility: Bump of about 4mm in diameter, raised, seemingly containing pus. Some red lines beginning to radiate from the site of infection (about 1 inch in different directions). Wound has been raised for about two days and has been itchy. We have drawn a circle around the red lines to see if they get any longer. Should we head to the hospital now?
