What Causes An Inflamed And Swollen Vein On The Foot?
I was sitting at home and all of a sudden it felt like something bit me on the top of my foot I looked and it looked like a bulging vien burning and my veins looked enlarged around the spot. the day before I remember I had a shooting pain up my shin bone two times on that leg my right leg what can it be .i do have svt and mitral valve prolapse . Had an ablation in 2006 I m 59

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
It can be a sign of varicose vein.
If symptoms persists better to consult a general surgeon and plan for a vascular Doppler to make a diagnosis.
