What Causes An Itchy And Painful Bruise On The Thigh?

My outer thigh will start itching pretty badly and within hours will become a huge black bruise that is quite painful. I m curious as to any possible cause? I have no allergies and have used cortisone cream every time to stop the itching but the bruise still appears and then heals very slowly.

Hello,

I think the itching and redness may come as a result of an allergic reaction you may be having lately.

Possibly you had allergy to a substance and it caused the redness and scratching it caused bruising. You can use corticosteroid cream and also don't scratch it anymore.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
