I have a rash on left shin. it s itchy and bumpy but not oozing or filled with any liquid. it is more then six months and it looks like its getting bigger. i m going to a dr. but in May. long time to wait. is there anything over the counter I can use?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy and raised rash on the shin . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, heat rash or sweat dermatitis or uncomfortable footwear . Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion. Protect your legs from direct sunlight . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin , oral anti fungal or anti bacterial depending upon the diagnosis . Apply ice pack to reduce redness and itchiness .It is important to wear lose comfortable footwear and socks ,maintain good personal hygiene.
