What Causes An Itchy Lump On Nexplanon Insertion Point?

Hi I get the contraceptive implant (nexplanon) in April 2011 so iv had it 7 months. It got itchy about 10 mins ago, which I know is a sign of healing, and then a small lump appeared at the insertion point. The lump is about half a pea size and White, red and irritated round about. Kinda reminds me of a heat spot or insect bite. It s really itchy and this has happened maybe 3 times. Curious to what s happening, any help?
