What Causes An Itchy Rash On The Forearm After Taking Oseltamivir Phosphate?

My 15 year old son (weight 135) is taking Oseltamivir Phos 75 MG Capsules for Influenza B. He has taken 4 doses and has developed an itchy rash on his forearm. The rash is small dots (not hive-like). The rash is contained to one location right now. Should he stop taking the medication?

Hi,

The symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.

I recommend you to stop the medication and take antihistamines such as Cetirizine for relief.

I also suggest you consult your doctor for an alternative medication.
