What Causes An Itchy Red Spot On The Arm After A Spider Bite?

I got bitten by a spider 7 days ago. My are started swelling up, turning red, hurting, itching real bad, stinging and going numb. I did goto the urgent care and they gave me a shot of steroid and antibiotics. Then prescribed me steroids, antibiotic and a cream. But I m still feeling very sick and my arm is still hurting.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

The symptoms can probably be due to infection at the site of spider bite that can become generalised causing sick feeling..

Pain in arm is also due to infection and inflammation..

You should continue taking antibiotics for 5 more days and can add anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen to relieve pain and inflammation..

Do cool compresses at the site of spider bite..
In case if the symptoms still does not improve, consult an Emergency room once again and get evaluated..
