Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes An Open Wound From A Skin Infection Around The Navel?
I had an itchy infection on my tummy. I used garlic for about half an hour....there was burning pain.......after about 7hrs of removing and washing the garlic paste...the skin became black. Next day, it started peeling off.....I removed a bit of the black burnt skin manually. Pink skin was exposed. Now, there is some fluid coming out of that pink area which keeps the area wet. There is even a bit of bleeding .
The brunt skin might be due to garlic and other local application. Kindly get it reviewed by a surgeon and wound discharge cultures should be sent to isolate the causing organism. Antibiotics should be selected accordingly. Local or oral both may be used simultaneously.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
