What Causes An Unsteady Head In An Infant?

My daughter has four month old infant who has had and still has a very unsteady head since birth. He quickly moves it from the left to the right and sometime unsteadily moves it a little back and forward. He has never been able to keep his head steady unless the back of his head is supported. His head is becoming misshapen to look a little flat where he keeps it steady by supporting his head in a chair. What might be his problem?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Complete head control take place on fifth or sixth month. However you can take him to a pediatrician and get evaluated to look for any developmental delay. There are exercises and tricks to strengthen the head and can be tried if required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
