What Causes Anal Itching?

I have had anal itching off and on for quite some time. Because I think part of the problem is using too much toilet paper, I have begun using baby wipes. When I use the wipes, pieces of fabric appear all over them after I wipe (little specs). Is this part of the problem or is this normal?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query,
You might have developed fungal infection.
The anal area is moist and is prone to develop these infections.
Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.
Various antifungal powders like candid are availabe.
These can help reduce the moisture as well as control the infection.
Please donot use any steroid, it can worsen your condition
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
