What Causes Ankle Swelling Post A Foot Surgery?

My ankles are swelling. I had foot surgery, but non surgical ankle is more swollen. Could it be from using it more while using knee walker? I found out right before surgery that I need to see a cardiologist because I am in and out of arterial fibulatiion. (sorry about spelling)

Hello,

As you said may be over use leg may cause pain and swelling. But we can not rule out Cardiac failure since you are having Atrial fibrillation. Better consult cardiologist and Orthopedic doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. C. Elanchezhian, General & Family Physician
