What Causes Anosmia After The Treatment Of Sinusitis?

I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and was prescribed biaxin. It seems to be a severe infection, with (what I now think is) sinusitis. I seem to be breathing better but my sense of aste and smell has not returned. It has been 3 days, While I realize this is a short period of time, I would think some form of taste and smell would return as it has in the past with similar symptoms. I am concerned I may have anosmia. We

Hi,

I understand your concern, however, anosmia is commonly caused by inflammation in the nose like flu. Same for taste disturbance, it generally take few day to weeks to return to normal, if you are otherwise fine there is no need worry about it. It would settle in few more days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
