Hello,

Clonidine is a good medication to treat high blood pressure. There are many reasons why blood pressure goes high, including stress and anxiety. Escitalopram is treating your anxiety, hoping your BP will get reduced at the same time. So, do not think of side effects. We do not consider them as long as their benefits outweighs their side effects.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
