Hi,I am Dr. Robert Galamaga (Hematologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Dr,My youngest brother was died from very sever aplastic anemia 2009 aug, firsty doctores were desid atg given to his,but unfortunatly he was ill with fever.therefor doctors was not given atg ,and they gave cyclosporine,he was 26 years teacher and good healthy, i don know what was caouse that?
My opinion is as follows. 1. Aplastic anemia is due to acellularity of bone marrow. 2. Most common viral infections. However, medications, cancers, or various bacterial infections can cause it. 3. Bone marrow biopsy would have helped in confirmation of the cause. Possible cyclosporine-induced aplastic anemia or other antibiotic-induced bone marrow suppression could be the cause. 4. More details necessary for further opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prakash H Muddegowda
