What Causes Appetite Loss And Dry Cough After Taking Ofloxacin?

Sir i did open end hamaerrodactomy before two months.i got normal after fifteen days.no pain.but on 27 th day i got rashes .inside the anal rectum i got itching.my doctor gave me meox cv 625 and metrogyl.i got black diarrhea.then she td me to stop meox cv 625.and continue metogyl.i got so tired.i came to my home town madurai.I have taken metrogyl for three days only totally.after four days i got discharge from anal rectum and from wound also.here i have consult ed with an civil surgeon.he gave me cifran ct 500 and gintamycin injection for day and night for four days.half of the wound was closed.then again for six days he gave me cifran ct day and night.before taking medicine he asked me to pan d.so no vomiting.after one week i met him.again i got itching.so he gave me oflaxcin 200 for seven days.now wound closed completely but i got cough with lack of appetite.dry cough.then he gave me azivent 500 along with dolo 650.after taking two times.now i got three Times.diarrhea.then i stopped taking medicine.i have lack of appetite.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of appetite loss and dry cough after taking Ofloxacin which seems to be due to chronic upper respiratory tract infection. The symptoms can also occur as side effects of antibiotics . Eat probiotics food for few day and symptoms will peobably go away. . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with throat swab test and blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should for fine needle and aspiration cytology as well. Take proper course of antibiotics. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages.
