What Causes Appetite Loss, Nausea And Weight Loss While Suffering From MALS?

ER doc diagnosed MALS, after waiting three more weeks of pain, not eating much, nauseous, I ve only lost what I gained on long term use of prednisone, I have cvid, fibro, as of last week diabetes, lots of other stuff - vascular surgeon had nothing from hospital & dismissed me as not enough weight loss - he did not know what cvid was & obviously still in pain, last night to this moment it hasn t let up, do I grin & bear it until my PC visit on 7/15 or go back to ER

Hi,

Usually there is a lot of weight loss from MALS which would help the other conditions. I haven't heard of prednisone being useful in it and surgery might be. I'm doubtful what an ER can do and regular doctors and surgeons would be a better resource mostly. cannot say in your particular case, but generally, there is weight loss with it and surgery is often used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
