What Causes Arm And Shoulder Numbness During Sleep?

Occasionally, during deep sleep, I awaken from this deep sleep with my whole left arm, from shoulder to hand, numb. What causes this? The other day, on awakening with a numb arm, I went through to the bathroom where I promptly passed out. Are these related?

Hello
The numbness could be due to pressure on one side of body when you sleep on that side. I dont think your fainting and numbness is related.
Please get your blood pressure checked though.
