Hi,

Brachial bursitis is inflammation of the nerves in brachial plexus of nerves in the neck. Pain, numbness is the symptoms of nerve injury (here due to inflammation).

TI don't know whether he had undergone investigations to find site &cause of the inflammation. Not only pain management but the cause must be removed to get complete relief.

On my view, MRI of cervical spine &neck would throw some light on the causative factor. Followed by specific treatment by orthopaedic surgeon/neuro physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
