What Causes Arm Pain Around Elbow?

Help! Left arm pain around my elbow, but also when gripping - trying to open a jar, car door, etc. Started around two weeks ago - today when I was lifting my two year old up to put him in his car seat I screamed in pain! What is this? How can I fix it?
