What Causes Armpit Swelling And Pancreas Pain With Numbness Below The Waist?

My husband has swelling under left arm pit after a spinal cord surgery and the pain extends to the pancreas area....he has had two ultrasounds done but they show nothing in the armpit area...plus since his surgery he has gone numb from teh waist down and is gradually losing his ability to urinate...they came to put a catheter in today and the pain was so extreme he almost went into shock. they have no diagnosis for us or no prognosis and so we are left feeling frustrated...can nerve pain really cause so many problems in our bodies...when he eats he gets extreme pain in the pancreas area and so his eating has decreased
