What Causes Arms, Legs And Biceps Veins Prominence?
Over that past 3 to 4 months my veins have become more visible on my arms and legs. More and more spider veins are occurring on my legs and my biceps to my forearms almost look like huge spider webs. What is going on with me? I've also started to notice blood pooling on my left arm about the size of a laser dot, maybe smaller. I've gone to the doctor and all he had to say was that "I'm unlucky". I want a second opinion.
This sounds like varicose veins. This is caused when the veins become enlarged due to valves that aren't working correctly. I wouldn't say you are "unlucky" as this is very common, but the good news is that this can be treated. Sclerotherapy or laser ablation can be used to get rid of these veins. I'd start with an ultrasound, which can help to see if there are any blood clots causing these problems, and will also see if you would be treatable with laser vein ablation. I'd recommend you see a vascular surgeon. In the meantime, you can start wearing compression stockings, which you can get over the counter from any pharmacy, and may help with your symptoms.
I hope this is helpful, please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
