People seeing the high power for glasses usually apprehend more.Your son is myopic and astigmatic too.
Astigmatism can be due to irregularity in cornea, lens or retina but its mostly due to cornea.
Patients with high myopia (>6 D) have large eyes and thin retina and have retinal compilcations in later part of life if power persist to increase i.e pathological myopia
I would recommend you to book an appointment with a eye especialist and get a complete ophthalmic with fundus examination. And keep followup with the doctor for early detection and treatment.
Myopic with astigmatism person have sub normal vision even with best corrected glasses. so do not worry just continue the glasses as it is the best option for now.
I emphasis on routine and proper followup.
