What Causes Auditory Hallucinations?

Hi, I see and hear things that aren t there. I hear my mother and sister fighting outside when i look there s no one there.. i see someone following me but then they disappear into thin air. I just turned 20 a couple of weeks ago. The voices have been there for as long as i can remember. But the person following me is new. What should i do?

These are symptoms of psychotic disorder. It is good that you are aware of this. Early diagnosis and treatment is important. A through medical and neurological examination is needed to reach at exact diagnosis of any mental illness. Do not ignore this because treatment of mental illness is as necessary as any serious physical illness. If you are not treated at proper time then it might lead to further deterioration of mental illness. You should immediately consult a psychiatrist for diagnosis and further treatment. Discuss this matter with your family also because family support is important.
