What Causes Back Pain After A Head Injury?

Hi, my name is Carol, and earlier today I was standing outside of my car and was about to get some bags out of the back seat. As I bent over to retrieve the bags, I didn t bend down far enough and hit the top of my head on the door frame in a forward motion. At the same time I hit my head, I heard a crunching sound in the back of my neck. I did hit my head hard, but at the time I wasn t in any pain. Shortly thereafter I started feeling some pain in the back, and when I turn my head to the left and right, I hear crunching sounds. I took an Advil, but I am wondering if I need to be evaluated further?

Hi,

In my opinion, you should definitely consult a doctor and get a clinical examination done and an X-ray of the cervical spine to rule out cervical spine injury. Crunching sound on movement is suggestive of a hairline fracture. So better to consult an orthopedic doctor and discuss all these. If the X-ray is normal then no need to worry much.

Painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, ice pack application etc will treat you.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.
