What Causes Back Pain Along With Abdominal Bloating And Burping?

I have been having pain/discomfort in the back/ shoulder blade area as well as feeling a heaviness in the upper stomach area. Also, have had some extra gas and burping. . . just not feeling too well. I have never had gall bladder trouble as far as I know but have had several kidney stones years back. (I am a 66 yr. old female in fairly good health otherwise.) Thank you.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern . As per your query you have back pain along with abdominal bloating and burping . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome , gas pains , gastroenteritis , giardiasis , constipation , lactose intolerance , ulcerative colitis or inflammatory bowel disease . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order CT scan , ultrasound , stool test and endoscopy. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , laxative , antibiotics like ornidazole and albendazole. Avoid intake of large meals at a time and take small and frequent meals. For now eat light , avoid non spicy and heavy food , drink plenty of water and eat fibrous diet . The symptoms can also occur due to UTI . Also apply warm compresses on abdomen and back .
