I have horrible back pain which also is causing pain in the groin area, down the legs and ankle. I have a bone spur on my lower spine area. I sometimes get numbness in legs which does go away. My hip is starting to hurt. A week ago I couldn t even sit due to pain in left butt cheek.

Hi User! Back pain along with numbness and pain in the legs or hips may be due to nerve compression following an injury or due to other reasons which may cause the disc slip and the disc sits between the two vertebral bones may thus cause the compression on the nerves passing very close to it which goes all the way to the legs via hips. Ideally, on should get it examined by the doctor and may need to do certain tests like an MRI, etc. There can be other causes of back pain as well but considering these set of symptoms, nerve compression due to any cause may be considered.
