Help I CANNOT bend over and don t know whether I should try heat or more ice on the right side of my low back???? Initially I was in so much pain I could hardly get out of bed. After icing the right side of my low back during the night. I got up numerous times, with severe leg cramps throughout the night and could hardly get out of bed without them reoccurring with a vengence. (I take 720 mg magnesium. I am also on 2 tabs daily of CL 20 MEQ ER prescription potassium). Great difficulty putting my underwear, sox & pants because I can t bend over. Laid back in bed to pull up right knee (can t bend left knee due to an injury 8/8/16 [in physical therapy for a week for this]) to chest & then across to right side. I have spinal stenosis & 3 deteriorating cervical disks, a great deal of arthritis, all of my major joints including my jaw. This morning, simple tasks like unloading the dishwasher, getting laundry out of a front loader & into the dryer felt near impossible because I can t bend over. Twice daily I take 1000mg Turmeric Curcumin and 300mg Gabapentin.
These cramps mostly happen in the calf muscles but can also occur in the thighs or feet. Nocturnal leg cramps are quite painful and cause the affected muscles to feel tight or knotted. Symptoms may last from several seconds up to several minutes. There might also be muscle soreness after the cramp goes away.
