Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 77 year old father fell off a chair two days ago. Yesterday his back hurt, but he it did not seem to bad. He rode a riding mower yesterday. During the night, he developed a pain in his left side. When he is sitting or lying he does not have pain. When he moves around, he experiences a sharp pain in his left side. He is using a walker when he gets out of his chair which means he is in great pain. We are wondering if we should take him to the emergency room today or wait to go to the doctor tomorrow.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. As you are having left sided chest pain it is better to rule out cardiac cause by doing an ecg.Going to ER will be better in such case. Hope this may help you. let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
