What Causes Backache And Headache While Suffering From Hypertension?

Hi, My mom is taking medication for blood pressure but the past few weeks her blood pressure has gone up to 170-180. She has complained of some pain in her back but we thought it might be due to kidney stones. The pain has subsided but she is experiencing headaches today. Please advise.
