Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern . As per your query you have symptoms of bad breath and white patches on the tongue which is mainly because of dehydration of oral cavity, gingivitis or periodontitis and could be due to dental infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Do warm saline rinses thrice.

- Maintain proper oral hygiene, brush and floss twice a day.

- Chew sugar free chewing gum and tart candies as it help in stimulating saliva flow.

- Gargle with Biotene mouthwash. Drink plenty of water

Consult dentist for proper diagnosis. Doctor will examine physically to rule out conditions like acid reflux. Dentist may perform oral prophylaxis and prescribe antibiotics like metronidazole. Doctor may drain abscess or perform root canal in that tooth if it is dental related.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry
