What Causes Bad Mouth Odour And Yellowish Discharge After Wisdom Tooth Removal?

I got my 4 wisdom teeth taken out on Wednesday, May 4th. I had only swelling in my right cheek. It has gone down a lot, but a couple of days ago maybe about 3 days ago my breathe started to smell and I get a bad taste in my mouth. But, it was a foul smell and taste. I have no pain. I stopped taking my pain mediciation the third or fourth day due to no pain. It's almost been a week and today, I noticed some yellowish-greenish juice coming out from where the right bottom extraction and the top right tooth now has some yellowish-greenish around it. It looks like puss. But, I don't think I have a dry socket or anything due to no pain. The taste in my mouth has been going away a little bit, but now I have puss. Or at least that I've noticed. Do I have an infection? Why do I have puss? And my gum is going lower on my tooth, why? Is this normal?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain foul taste in mouth along with yellowish green discharge is a clear indication of infection and you need to get it treated otherwise there can be initiation of pain as well as spread of infection to deeper tissues..

There is a possibility that infection has occurred due to food accumulation and lack of proper hygiene maintenance of extraction area..

I would suggest you to start gargling with betadine mouthwash..
Do warm saline gargles..
Keep the areas of wisdom tooth extraction clean..
Also consult a Dentist and get evaluated and if needed a script of antibiotics can be advised along with other remedies..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
