What Causes Bad Odoured Vaginal Bleeding During Menstruation?

Some day around October 10th i had protected sex and i am on birth control, about two weeks after that I had different discharge as well as occasional itchy and painful vagina. It become heavier and kind of thick than normal, and started to smell, I guess you could call it fishy. But then it became more like a liquid still heavy, to the point of it going through leggings i was wearing onto the seat. I had felt uncomfortable sitting close to people because I could smell the odor. Eventually the odor stopped. I got my period two days ago and went to the doctors but they told me to come back once it has finished. Today it hurt when i peed and later i noticed that my period blood had a gross smell to it. It wasn t the same smell as before, but it was gross. Also there s a small area around my vagina that stings. What s happening??

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Profuse foul smelling vaginal discharge along with itching is suggestive of infection of the vaginal tract.
Re-currence of foul smelling discharge again suggests that infection has come back again.
I suggest you to get a micro-biological examination of the vaginal discharge and to look for the infection and thus treat the infection if present.
Vaginal infection is more common when using tampons so you may discontinue its use tampons.
Stinging sensation around the vagina is also suggestive of some infectious focus.
A concurrent urine examination is also required to look for any urinary infection.
Infections of urinary tract and reproductive tract can co-exist thus these infections have to be ruled out.
Antibiotic course is required in case infection is detected.
I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
