What Causes Bad Test In Mouth, rapid Heart Beat And Dizziness?

I was sick for 4 weeks, throat infection, chest infection, I got really run down, spent a day in hospital on a fluid drip, bloods came back fine, chest X-ray confirmed a flair up of my emphysema but otherwise all was ok, since then I have had continual bad taste in my mouth, post nasal drip, feelings of fast heart rate at times, light head occasional disiness, just can t seem to get back to where I was but all tests say nothing wrong? Hello,

Bad taste in the mouth is due to the side effects of medications you have been taking for so long. Take care of your dental hygiene, brush your teeth at least twice daily, rinse and gargle with a mouth wash or warm water with a pinch of salt. Take adequate water and fluids to flush out the toxicities that are interfering with your taste.

Bad taste can also be due to post nasal drip that you are experiencing. Nasal irrigation, steam inhalation, using a humidifier can help. Sleep on propped up pillows, to keep the mucus from collecting at the back of your throat. Taking decongestants and antihistamines are helpful. Dizziness can be due to weakness or dehydration, low blood sugar, low blood pressure, body electrolyte imbalance, low Hb%.

Take ORS and home made food in time, do not skip meals. Take food rich in protein, iron, calcium, magnesium, etc. You can take supplements. Do continue to take the medicines prescribed by your treating doctor and go for follow up check ups routinely.

Rapid heart beat can be due to generalized weakness and sometimes because of developing CAD. You are advised to get clinically examined for your fast heart beat. Get all routine tests and screening tests done. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
