Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.

The discrete patches of hair loss that you are describing seem like Alopecia areata. Untreated hyperthyroidism can cause hair loss but it would be diffuse – i.e. you would be losing hair from all over the scalp (not in specific patches) . Copper-T can also cause hair loss but again it would be diffuse and not in patches.

I am not sure what type of hyperthyroidism that you suffer from, but if it is Graves’s thyrotoxicosis then it is an auto immune disorder. Patients having one auto immune condition may develop another. Alopecia areata is also an auto immune condition.

So, I don't think either your hyperthyroidism or your Copper-T has caused these bald patches.

There are several treatments depending on the type of the baldness. Steroid creams or oral steroid tablets or steroid injections into the scalp, Minoxidil lotion etc. are used. As these are prescription only medicines, I would advise you to consult a dermatologist first.

I hope this answer has helped you.

Thank you
