What Causes Band Like Noises In The Ear?

I have an almost continuous piece of band music going round and round my left ear. I think it might be a wax problem, but olive oil doesn t seem to do much, except for one short moment when it improved for a short time, and then clogged up again, but it s this continuous big band sound that is really bugging me. Is it just a case of continuing the treatment or do a need to see a specialist?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems continuous band music sounds in left ear that is also known as Ringing or Tinnitus along with recurring clogging can occur due to causes like:
-Ear infection.
-Perforated eardrum.
-Excess ear wax accumulation.
-Eustachian tube dysfunction.
-Meniere's disease.
-TMJ disorders.
-Acoustic Neuroma etc.

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As tinnitus is not a disease in itself but symptom of any underlying pathology therefore treatment of the underlying problem will resolve the symptoms..

You can be also advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised..
White noise devices can be advised..
You can also be advised Neuromodulation..
Avoid exposure to very loud sounds and also avoid diving, swimming etc..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
