I understand your concern. You are correct in that
nausea can persist after such a procedure, but should subside within a week or two.
Metoclopramide and
domperidone are examples of medications that quicken stomach emptying and can be extremely useful in the short term.
Diarrhea after
gallbladder removal seems to be related to the release of bile directly into the intestines. Normally, the gallbladder collects and concentrates bile, releasing it when you eat to aid the digestion of fat. When the gallbladder is removed, bile is less concentrated and drains more continuously into the intestines, where it can have a laxative effect.
These are the set of instruction given to the patients:
1)Go easy on the fat. Avoid high-fat foods, fried and greasy foods
2) Increase the fiber in your diet. This can help normalize bowel movements. Add soluble fiber, such as oats and barley, to your diet.
3) Eat smaller, more-frequent meals.
