What Causes Black And Blue Colored Eye After An Injury?

Hi while I was swimming on sunday at approx. 6:45pm I went unfer water and hit my right side forhead and right upper tooth on a wood pole. Its now tuesday and my left eye(top eyelid) is turning black and blue. I thought it was makeup but realized i havnt worn any for 3days. My forehead slightly hurts but Whats happening to my left eye.

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

There is a periorbital hematoma in your case. It means there is collection of blood around your eye ball.

As collected blood will degrade the color of overlying skin will change from black to greenish blue to yellow to skin color.

You should consult your doctor for detailed clinical examination.
There may be fracture of orbital wall (bone supporting the cavity of eye ball).
Depending upon clinical evaluation there may be need for CT scan of orbit or brain with face depending upon extent of injury.

Use some pain killer with anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen with serratopeptidase.
