What Causes Black Colored Stools While On Malic Acid?

im having stomach discomfort for two weeks now felt very bloated started taking malic acid and eating more vegetables to get things moving and for a week now my stool has been black with no signs of blood stomach still uncomfortable but with a lot less regular pain

Hi,

I think you should not take malic acid if you were pre-diagnosed with gastrointestinal ulcera or gastritis. It lowers pH and irritates the stomach mucosa. I think the black stools may be melena blood from ulcera. You should consult a gastroenterologist. May be you need to follow a fybroscopy.
