What Causes Black Coloured Stool While Suffering From Typhoid?

I have been suffering from typhoid fever for over 10days, I m getting better and the symptoms has now reduced but I feel slight weakness and headache sometimes and my stool is still blackish in color sometimes. I have been using ofloxacin tablet 200mg every 12 hours. Should I still continue with the tablet or should go for another check up.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may need to be reviewed to make sure that you are progressing as you should.

Dark stool may indicate that there is still blood present in the stool and the continued fluid and blood loss would contribute to your weakness.
If there is a significant decrease in the number of bowel movements and also the stool is not as dark as before then you can consider monitoring for 24 to 48 hours to see if improvement continues.

If you still feel very unwell then you should be reviewed as soon as possible

I hope this helps
