What Causes Black Discoloration Around The Grafted Skin?

i had to get a small skin graft on my finger due to a work incident. I m not supposed to go back to the doctor till thursday which will be a week. i took off my bandage and the small graft is now all black. how bad is this? he mentioned how it might not b successful but does it need to come off?

A skin graft that is black means there is no longer any blood going to that area. The graft is no longer viable. It should be removed.
