What Causes Black Eye Along With A Bruised Lump On The Eye?
I have had a black eye for 3 days now, nearing 4. It occurred after a head-butt to my brow bone whilst at rugby training, it started to lump immediately and the bruising appeared immediately aswell. The next day was ten times worse, I couldn t open it etc but now the swelling has gone down, I can open it only half way but there is a hard lump sort of above my actual eyeball and just under my brow one this is restricting the opening of my eye. I m just wondering how long it will take to go?, as in the full swelling, the bruising and this strange large lump as I have a rugby match this coming Wednesday and would like to play, does this black eye mean I cannot participate in contact as I have been but I m not sure if I should or should not be. Any advice would be great!
It seems that you have an extradural bleed leading to its flow in you extra orbital region. There's nothing to worry no specific treatment rather just to wait for it to resolve. It takes around 7 to 10 days.
Playing during the swelling is quite dangerous may cause you secondary fall injuries due to the improper sighting.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
