What Causes Black Floating Dot In The Eye?

hi, I'm a 23 year old female. I have a black floating dot in my right eye that's been there for months now. I heard that it's just a sign of ageing but I I have recently smelt burnt toast. I'm panicking now in case its serious.Should I see my doctor?

Thanks, Kirsty

These are floaters, degenerative body in vitreous. They are normal and not related to aging process. If number increases suddenly then fundus is to be examined to see retinal condition.
