Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Black Matter Oozing Out Of The Nose Post A Nose Cauterization?
I had my nose cauterized yesterday, and last night i put ointment around the area and put a cotton ball in my nose. This morning when i removed the cotton ball, it had black residue and then ten min after cotton ball removal, i bled a little. Did i remove the scab, do u have to go back to the ent? Is the vessel reopened? Or should i just leave it alone for now and hope nothing happened to it?
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you don't need to worry you must have just removed the scab and it will regrow. No need to rush to the ENT surgeon this early. In case you bleed again then consult your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
