What Causes Black Patches On Front And Outer Part Of Lower Legs?

I m a 56 yr old male...very athletic with reg exercise...athlete when younger. I ve noticed over the years that on the front and outer part of both lower legs (above ankles, below calfs) have lost hair so there s a blank patch in those places. I have no pain, itching, issues with any movement, etc. What might be causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it seems to be likely due to gabapentin and it needs to be reduced in dose. Its one of the recognised side effects associated with this drug.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
