What Causes Black Seed Like Substance In Stool In A Hernia Patient?

Lately I was diagnosed with a hernia and barrett s esophagus. Last week I noticed undigested herbs/vegetables in my stool and this week I noticed a lot of black seeds (like kiwi seeds). Should I worry or ask for some tests to be done? I already saw 3 doctors but they think because I changed my diet. Now I m eating a lot of salads with herbs and I started eating kiwi again.

Hello,

Some food that are hard to digest pass out of the digestive tract without being digested. These may appear like black seeds, flecks or undigested food.

Sometimes, black specks can be old blood in the GI tract. You may not worry unless it is old blood.

You are suggested to get physically examined by a GP & get Stool test(R/E, C/S), Urinalysis(R/E. C/S) & CBC to stay on the safer side. If any pathology is detected, get it treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
