What Causes Black Spot On Tonsil?

I am 55, weigh 135lbs, and have had HepC for 35yrs or so. I have a black spot on one tonsil, no sore throat, but have had a sinus infection and blood/mucus drainage on that side for several months now. It started with not taking care of the upper back tooth. I ve been through 14 days of antibiotics but I still have it. Any thoughts on some of these things?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Black spot may be congestion of tonsils or tonsillar stone or membrane over it or streptococcus pharyngitis etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use water vapour inhalation.

Get it done throat swab culture and microscopy. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
