What Causes Black Spots At The Back Of Throat Post Root Canal Treatment?

I am a RN and of course we are supposed to act as the family physician But my 44 yr old brother had a root canal done about 2 wks ago he finished all but 5 days post ABX. Now he looks like he may have thrush and he had a small skin tag (not a pustule) but now he said he has small blackish spots in the back of his throat

Can understand your concern..

As per your complain as the root canal procedure is completed two weeks ago and now he is experiencing thrush, skin tags and black spots in the throat are all suggestive of oral infections but has nothing to link with the dental treatment..

He may have a bacterial infection in throat and thrush due to fungal infection and can be due to any systemic disease or as a result of common communication of infection.

I would suggest you to consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and the treatment will be planned according to the clinical diagnosis and lab investigations but the Root canal treatment as a link doesnt seems relevant in his case.
