What Causes Black Stool And Poor Vision?
I am a 46 year old white male do not use alcohol and gave up tabacco 6 months ago. my stool has changed from a brown to a black color for the last 3 months. also I feel a small pain in the center of my back only when I bend over for about the same length of time. My near vision has decreased significantly in the last month.

Dear black / brown stools may be due to upper gastrointestinal bleeding (peptic ulcers, polyps, colitis, vascular ectasia, malignancy).
Other possibilities causes like food with green or dark colour vegetables.
Iron tablets or bismuth containing antacid may cause dark colour stools.
please consult your surgeon get stool examination is done for occult blood get treated accordingly.
