Hi, My husband had a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch and barbecue chicken wings for lunch. After 30-45 minutes of eating he felt urge to go for bowel movement but couldn t go. But all of sudden he felt he has to go and bloody diarrhea (black tarry) came out. he went twice one after another and it was the same as before bloody. After that he felt sweaty and now he feels chills.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to indigestion. As a first line management laxatives like lactulose can be taken. Generally it will settle in couple of days. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
