What Causes Black Vaginal Discharge?

Hi, my boyfriend & I about a week or 2 ago had an accident. my period was suppose 2 start a around the time of the accident but instead two days ago i started having black discharge.. I've had this before but its only lasted a day & it turned into blood.. my question is could this be a sign of early pregnancy or couls something b wrong with me?
